We expect you'll agree that the world is in need of a real pick-me-up, which is why we are completely loving this Twitter user's campaign to expose the good in people.

And by people, we mean celebrities.

Embarking on a feel-good mission for the nation, Twitter user BAKOON asked strangers to tell them their favourite celebrity anecdote – on one condition: it has to be nice.

Thankfully, the people of the internet promptly delivered, and passed on heartwarming stories about everyone from Salma Hayek to Tom Hanks to Cuba Gooding Jr.

"David Tennant not only graciously accepted an academic paper from a random fan in the Richard II stage door line but actually read it and sent me an appreciative note about it," one fan revealed.

(Jealous.)

"Jack Black once listened very empathetically to girl troubles I was having when I was 18 and gave me solid, mature advice on leaving things be," another chipped in.

Confirming that Tom Hanks is as wonderful as he seems, they added: "Secondhand, but Tom Hanks was apparently very friendly and enthusiastic about humoring my Dad's interest in kaleidoscopes."

Former actress Mara Wilson also shared some of her favourite, and sweetest, celebrity memories, outing the likes of Danny DeVito, Rhea Perlman, Sporty Spice and Lucy Liu as the best of the best.
