Twitter has reacted as the Glasgow winner of Come Dine With Me revealed he has cooked for a celebrity - and kept mentioning it.

City centre family-run bistro Red Onion took home the prize of £1000 and a trophy after wowing fellow competitors Calabash and Saffron in the professional version of the popular series.

Viewers were delighted at the friendliness and good sportsmanship shared by the competitors, and one Twitter user said that they now have three new restaurants to try when they visit Glasgow.

However, many also took to social media to joke about the winner, Red Onion chef John Quigley, who did a bit of celebrity name-dropping.

John, who founded Red Onion with his wife Gillian and now runs it with his daughter Rosie, has spent years working in some of London's finest restaurants and has cooked for famous faces.

After mentioning that he cooked for singer Bryan Adams - several times - viewers shared their responses.

One wrote: "Does anyone know if he's cooked for a bloke called Bryan?"

Another said: "Had he cooked for Bryan Adams? He should have mentioned it."

While a third joked: "I have cooked for Bryan Adams too, not the singer, just a guy called Bryan."
