Two sisters reported missing are found ALIVE after Grenfell Tower blaze

Two young sisters who were reported missing after the Grenfell Tower fire have been found alive in hospital.

Tamzin Belkadi, six, and her sister Malek, eight, lived on the 20th floor of the tower with their mother Farah Hamda, father Omar Belkadi and their six-month-old baby sister Leena.

The rest of the family is still missing.

Ousama Itani, a resident who has been working tirelessly to reunite families, revealed the happy news that the pair were being cared for by doctors and nurses.

He told Sky News: “These two girls here were unaccounted for and were recently just accounted for in a hospital but we’re still looking for their parents and a small baby in their family as well.

“The little girls were found near the top of the building so we’re very happy they were actually rescued.”

Appealing for information about the girls’ family, he said: “If anyone has seen their father, Omar, perhaps inform him that his children have been found in the hospital.

“He is also missing so if anyone has any information, please contact 07855541215.”

He said: “It’s such a shock for us and traumatic for people to be still unaccounted for even now 32 hours into the fire.”

Seventeen people have so far been confirmed to have died in the tragedy, which saw fire sweep through the tower block in Kensington.

Syrian refugee Mohammad Alhajal was earlier named as the first victim in the blaze.

Many more people are reported missing and police have warned that the death toll is set to rise significantly.
