Ulrika Jonsson has called the end of her third marriage "torture," and admitted that she ended up going to couples' counselling by herself.

Appearing on Loose Women, the TV star opened up about her split from third husband Brian Monet, after 11 years together.

She said: ““I really believe in counselling, psychotherapy is amazing. I have gone on my own.”

Adding that the end of the relationship hadn’t totally come out of the blue for her, she continued: “All of last year was incredibly tough, every minute of every day. I was putting on a front going 'everything's fine' but it's not.

“The last couple of years. I've tried to go through all that. There's always one thing that tips you over the edge.

“There's just a moment where you suddenly realise you can't do it on your own.

“I really believe in counselling, psychotherapy is amazing. I have gone on my own.

“I felt like I was dealing with things on my own a lot of the time and found it really hard to cope, you are trying to keep things even in front of the children but it’s just not possible. It’s just not going to happen, especially when they are older.

“They are emotionally mature, my girls, and they [pick up when you are sad] more so than you think.”

She added: “You're trying to keep things even in front of the children but it's not possible. It's actually not good.

“I think the first torture was thinking about the children."

Ulrika also said that she’s sworn off dating: “It feels like such a foreign thing to me.

“I've got my gorgeous dogs and my children - they come second obviously.”
