Vehicles Pelted With Hail in Lee County, Illinois

The National Weather Service (NWS) warned southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois residents of strong thunderstorms with the possibility of lightning and large hail on Tuesday, September 7.

Sue Johnston said she recorded this video in Paw Paw, Illinois, on Tuesday afternoon.

“I thought we were gonna lose some windows. What a terrifying wind and hail downpour,” she wrote on Twitter.

According to the NWS, parts of Lee County reported hail as large as golf ball-size. A severe thunderstorm warning was in effect for parts of Illinois and Indiana until 9 pm. Credit: Sue Johnston via Storyful
