Vicky McClure would love to work with her "idol" Julie Walters.

The ‘Line of Duty’ star would opt to collaborate with the ‘Mamma Mia’ star, 72, over her other favourite, rapper Lauryn Hill, 47 - who wrote one of her “favourite” records, ‘The Emancipation of Lauryn Hill’ - and she would even team up with Julie for a scene in which she "didn't have any lines".

When asked which one she would prefer to work with for an entire week by her TV producer fiancee Jonathan Owen, 51, the 39-year-old actress told singer Tom Grennan, 27, on his new podcast ‘The Tom Grennan Phone In’: "With me, I think I'm gonna go with my honest answer as well. Julie is my idol.

"And as much as I would love nothing more than to sing with Lauryn Hill, I would butcher that. And I don't need to sing with her, I just need her to sing that album that I've been playing forever ... It's one of my favourite albums of all time.

"But to work with Julie for a week. I mean, to work with Julie in one scene where I don't have any lines, would be a moment in my career. So I'd definitely go for Julie over Lauryn."

Vicky also Tom how she “got it so wrong” style-wise at the premiere of Madonna’s directorial debut ‘Filth and Wisdom’ - in which Vicky starred opposite Holly Weston and Richard E. Grant - in 2008.

She said: "Many years ago, I did a film that was directed by Madonna. And we'd made the film and then we went to Berlin on her private jet, and we did this film premiere. And I went to H+M and bought this dress and took my old boots with me and I'd got some leggings on. I got it so wrong. You can Google it.

"So anybody that's listening if you need to actually see it. I'm just gonna show you like, there was Holly, who was one of the other actresses and she's great.

"She had done a lovely job with this beautiful suit and then obviously Madonna looking fabulous. Eugene Hutz, he looked incredible. What am I doing? What are these baggy brown boots that are really worn? And this this awful, bless it, dress. Oh, no idea! Did not know!"

Asked what Madonna did, Vicky replied: "She was very kind about it because she never mentioned it, but I bet she was thinking like, ‘What is she wearing? This little cotton dress.' "
