Voyeur caught as phone filming women vibrated in toilet cubicle

A maintenance worker at a Knightsbridge office block who used his phone as a hidden camera to spy on women on the toilet is facing jail today.

Jason Prowse, 38, propped his mobile on pipework under a bench in the cubicle and left it to record, capturing seven victims in an hour-long film. He was caught out when he received a call, and a woman using the toilet heard the handset vibrating.

After discovering a phone that was set to record, she was “disgusted” to see herself on the tape.

The woman then found that Prowse had accidentally filmed himself installing the makeshift spycam.

Prowse, from Worcester Park, admitted when confronted that the phone was his, but insisted: “I’m not a perv.” He claimed he had been using the torch function to fix the heating and left the handset behind by accident.

A jury at Southwark crown court yesterday rejected his story and found him guilty of voyeurism.

He was set free on bail but could face jail when sentenced on Friday. He was sacked after the discovery of the phone on April 19 last year.
