What to watch at London's first free Green Film Festival in Regent's Place

What better way to embrace sultry summer nights in the city than outdoors, under the bright shining big screen, watching a free film?

London’s first Green Film Festival kicks off with the official UK premiere of The Biggest Little Farm, on Wednesday, July 17. The story follows one family in California as they escape the city to build a biodynamic farm, revealing all the beauty and hardships of going against the norm and trying to live in tune with nature.

The multi awarding-winning film sets the tone for the 10-day film festival, which explores the climate crisis and celebrates documentary film, brought to London in partnership with the San Francisco Green Film Festival.

In the spirit of Simon Amstell’s vegan comedy Carnarge, The Age of Stupid (Thursday 18 July) stars Oscar-nominated Pete Postlethwaite as a man living in the devastated future world of 2055 asking: “Why didn’t we save ourselves when we had the chance?”

The Last Animals (Thursday 25 July) is a powerful and heart-wrenching documentary following the conservationists, scientists and activists battling poachers and criminal networks to save elephants and rhinos from extinction.

Other highlights include RiverBlue which journeys the world's most polluted riverways to reveal the dark side of the fashion industry and The Serengeti Rules, which follows a small group of young scientists to some of the most remote and spectacular places on Earth.

It almost goes without saying that vegan food will be the order of the day and served up by Biff’s Jack Shack, renowned for their fully stacked crispy fried jackfruit burgers.

Plus, the festival is powered by natural renewable electricity, provided by SmartestEnergy.

In spite of climate change/a truly British summer, all films will be shown come rain or shine.
