"A crazy moment which could have been a lot worse but I'm completely fine, a little bit battered and bruised but ok! I'll see y'all back up there tonight.

"Checked by the wonderful medics at the hydro.

"The show must go on. Thanks for all your well wishes. #ReallyFlyingWithoutWings"

Bandmate Shane Finlan can be seen hurrying down the steps after him while Mark Feehily gasps in shock.

Filan said their fans have grown up with them and while they still throw their knickers on stage, they are more likely to be big pants than g-strings.

He said: "We get fans chucking their knickers at us all the time.

“One of the last ones, this woman threw up quite a large pair of knickers, it was funny, they were massive. Myself and Nicky got into them. We walked around on stage in Manchester wearing them while we sang a song before throwing them back to her.”
