Wife of former Eagles bassist Randy Meisner found dead from gunshot

(Reuters) - The wife of former Eagles rock band bassist Randy Meisner was found dead of a gunshot wound to the head on Sunday evening at their home in Los Angeles, TMZ celebrity news website reported on Monday.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner is investigating the death of Lana Rae Meisner, 63, as an accident, investigator Courtney Castellino told Reuters. Castellino said Lana Meisner was pronounced dead at 7:10 p.m. PST on Sunday, but she could not confirm that she had been shot.
The Los Angeles Police Department declined to confirm details, saying only that it was investigating a death in the block where the Meisners have a home in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Studio City. The police said they would issue a news release on the incident on Monday.
Lana Meisner had called police earlier on Sunday to report a domestic incident, according to TMZ.
Randy Meisner was one of the original members of The Eagles and played bass for the band from 1971-1977. He was the lead singer on the band's hit song "Take It to the Limit."
Randy Meisner, who turns 70 this week, was put under court-ordered supervision with a monitor for his finances and for his prescription drug use after he threatened to kill himself and other people during a visit to a hospital last year, according to the New York Daily News.
