A female e-scooter rider has suffered a serious head injury after she was hit by a car in Islington.

Police were called to the collision on the busy junction of Holloway Road and Seven Sisters at 9am on Friday.

There they found the rider of the e-scooter suffering a serious head injury.

She was taken by London Ambulance Service to a north London hospital where her injuries were not deemed life-threatening.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and was not arrested.

In July, a 16-year-old boy on an e-scooter was killed in a hit and run collision and a three-year-old girl left with life-changing injuries after being hit by a young e-scooter rider.

A TfL spokesman said they believed the rider was using a private scooter which are illegal to use on public roads.

Around 1,200 e-scooters are available to rent in the capital across nine boroughs.

Anyone who witnessed this collision or has dashcam footage should call police on 101 or Tweet @MetCC quoting 1846/8OCT.

To remain 100% anonymous call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
