X Factor's Sam Bailey rushed to hospital in ladder fall

Former X Factor winner Sam Bailey has been rushed to hospital after being knocked out by a falling ladder.

Thankfully, the singer is now "on the mend" after the ladder hit her head while she tried to retrieve a suitcase from the loft.

A spokesperson for the singer told The Mirror: "Sam had got a suitcase out for her daughter Brooke, who is going on a skiing trip.

"Her husband Craig was there and called the ambulance but Sam was on the floor for about an hour. Sam was checked over at Leicester Royal Infirmary then allowed home later that day."

Sam posted a picture of herself on a stretcher following the accident on Instagram, writing: "So this was me tonight! Unconscious! Ct scan and after finding out my skull is in still intact I've decided im not going to go In the loft again!"

Later on, she updated fans with another picture of herself on Twitter back at home on the sofa, writing: "I'm on the mend people!"

The accident meant that the singer was forced to pull out of a panto performance of Beauty and the Beast in Leicester at the last minute.

She told the Leicester Mercury in a statement: "Thank you so much to everyone who has asked about me on social media.

"I am on the mend and resting up at home. I'm gutted to be missing panto and I hope to be back as soon as possible!"
