Sam Bailey was rushed to hospital after a fall from a ladder ‘knocked her out cold’.

The former X Factor winner was taken in an ambulance to Leicester Royal Infirmary on Tuesday after she tripped and fell from a ladder while trying to get into her loft.

Bailey was forced to pull out of her appearance in Beauty and the Beast at De Monfort Hall that night, but was discharged and back at home on Wednesday.

“Sam had got a suitcase out for her daughter Brooke who is going on a skiing trip,” said Bailey’s spokesperson.

“The ladders sprang back and hit her and she was knocked out cold. Her husband Craig was there and called the ambulance but Sam was on the floor for about an hour.”

After returning home from hospital, Bailey shared a series of photos of herself on a stretcher on her social media accounts.

“Thankyou to all the staff and ambulance crew at Leicester royal infirmary x after a scary night I have to say I’m so proud of our nhs staff for all they do!!!,” she wrote.

The singer went on to reassure fans that she was “on the mend” at home, despite experiencing some “dizzy spells and headaches”.

Baily won The X Factor back in 2013 and has gone on to release two albums and star in shows including Chicago and the forthcoming Fat Friends.
