Bad news, Young & Hungry fans - the popular sitcom won't get a finale movie after all.

Production company Freeform announced in March that the recently-concluded fifth season would be Young & Hungry's last, but they also said that a finale movie was in the works.

However, Deadline reports that the network is not moving forward with the full-length feature and star Emily Osment tweeted the news over the weekend.

"It breaks my heart to tell you that in addition to @FreeformTV not giving our Young & Hungry audience the ending our show deserved, they have ALSO decided to not go forward with a full length film," Osment wrote.

"From me and my obvious future tv hubby @sadowski23 we love you and we're sorry."

We're pretty devastated too, Emily.

Young & Hungry stars Osment as a feisty young food blogger who is hired by a well-off young tech entrepreneur to be his personal chef.

Season five ended with Gabi (Osment) proposing to boyfriend Josh and asking him to move with her to Seattle, where she is set to work under a top chef.

Young & Hungry ran for five seasons and 71 episodes from 2014 to 2018.

Apart from Emily Osment, it also starred Jonathan Sadowski and Aimee Carrero, as well as Kym Whitley and Rex Lee.

Creator David Holden (The War At Home) served as showrunner on the project, while Ashley Tisdale was on executive production duties.

Young & Hungry season five will receive its UK premiere on E4 on Thursday August 23rd.
