Roger Federer is back at Wimbledon as the All England Club prepare to celebrate the centenary of Centre Court.

The 2022 edition of the tournament marks 100 years since Centre Court moved to Church Road, its current location.

The ceremony will include veteran tennis broadcasters Sue Barker, John McEnroe and Clare Balding guiding attendees through 100 years of history, before British singer Freya Ridings performs to thousands of spectators.

A number of players, past and present, will be on court, including eight-time champion Federer — who holds the men's singles record in SW19. British player Heather Watson will then take to the court to face Germany’s Jule Niemeier in her first ever fourth round match.

Federer is in town but will not be playing for the first time in 19 years due to his continue recovery from knee surgery last year. He hopes to return to the famous court next summer.

The 20-time Grand Slam champion was spotted among the crowds earlier on Sunday, wearing a suit and white trainers.
