West Ham United and England midfielder Declan Rice joined a Twitter craze that has swept the social media platform.

A young man from Manchester with the username @jacobbmc2 created a Twitter space entitled #singyourdialect which saw huge names such as Barack Obama, John Cena and even the Somali Embassy in Turkey join as people were encouraged to sing a song of their choice in their local accent.

With the space attracting thousands of social media users, Rice joined to deliver a rendition of the West Ham song “Rice, Rice baby” to the tune of Vanilla Ice’s “Ice, Ice baby”.

The 22-year-old is a popular figure for both club and country on and off the pitch, thanks in part to his active social media presence to compliment his excellent performances.

Indeed, pundit Jamie Carragher and teammate Arthur Masuaku were amongst the many to reply and host Jacob thanked Rice for joining the space, promising to host another one at 7pm on Sunday.

With the likes of Aaron Ramsdale also joining over the past few days, it’s certainly worth keeping an eye out to see if any other high profile names opt to follow in Rice’s footsteps.
