International Women's Day – a global day dedicated to celebrating the achievements of women, from the social and cultural to the economic and political – falls on 8 March 2023.

This year's theme is "#EmbraceEquity", with a focus on on gender equity and a campaign that aims to get the world talking about why "equal opportunities are no longer enough" . True inclusion and belonging require equitable action for a more gender equal world that is free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination.

There are plenty of ways to get involved in the annual event, from taking part in the accompanying social media campaign, celebrate women's achievements at various IWD events to donating to charities that help women across the world, including the likes of the Red Cross, but another easy way to show your support is by shopping with intention.

The White Company

In support of IWD 2022, The White Company is one of the brands participating in the #ChangeAGirlsLife campaign in aid of Women Supporting Women at The Prince’s Trust.

Between 1st and 8 March, the company will donate £5 from every full-price candle to the campaign.

On the 8th of March, The White Company will also give £20 from the sale of the sterling silver Tiny Kiss necklace, which cost £49 towards the campaign.



The funds raised will go towards supporting vulnerable young women in the UK who face huge challenges, including domestic violence, homelessness and unemployment

Monica Vinader x Mother of Pearl

Monica Vinader and Mother of Pearl have joined forces with the launch of five new pieces with the aim of championing sustainability, empowerment and community.

Proceeds from the collection will be donated to a range of charitable efforts including Women for Women International and Our Dementia Choir.

Bluebella

Bluebella will be donating £5 from every order on International Women’s Day to the charity Equality Now, an organisation which campaigns for legal and systemic change to address violence and discrimination against women and girls around the world.

Whistles

Whistles is another brand that has partnered with the Prince's Trust for International Women's Day to support the #ChangeAGirlsLife campaign.

The brand will donate £1 from each global sale made at Whistles standalone stores or online via the company's website between 12am on 8th March to 11.59pm on 12 March.

By joining Women Supporting Women and supporting the #ChangeAGirlsLife campaign, shoppers can help to ensure that young women’s futures are not predetermined by their circumstances.

Glassette

Homewares marketplace Glassette is launching a collection of 12 limited edition prints by women artists to celebrate International Women’s Day.

Throughout the month of March, 100% of Glassette's profits from the sale of each print will be donated to The Magpie Project, a London-based charity that supports women and young children facing homelessness.

Glassette co-founder, Laura Jackson, says of the IWD collection, "We wanted to do something to showcase some of the incredibly talented, female artists we have the pleasure of working with amazing prints that were also supporting a great cause - the Magpie Project is a charity local to where I live and does incredible work that's so important for the community, especially during these difficult times."

In celebration of International Women's Day 2023, Hush will partner with Women for Women International, a charity that helps women survivors of war rebuild their lives through training and leadership roles within their communities.

To support the charity’s mission, Hush will donate £10 from each "Women Unite, Unite Women" t-shirt sold on their website between Tuesday 28 February and Sunday 12 March 2023.

Air & Grace

Female founded, sustainable footwear label Air & Grace has launched a special limited-edition style of their Roxy trainers for International Women’s Day to support The Prince’s Trust.



From 8th - 15th March, the label will be donating £25 for each pair sold to The Prince’s Trust for Women Supporting Women, which was established to help young women who face disadvantage and adversity to transform their lives.

Lily & Roo

London-based jewellery brand Lily & Roo has partnered with Little Village, the baby bank charity, to create a collaborative necklace for International Women's Day.

The necklace features a heart padlock style and is available in 925 sterling silver and 18ct gold plated on 925 sterling silver. It will retail for £75 and £89 respectively with 100% of the profits of each piece sold going to the charity.

Shoppers can choose to have the necklace engraved with a single initial either side of the necklace.

Bobbi Brown Cosmetics is celebrating the 10th anniversary of The Pretty Powerful Campaign this March, in support of International Women’s Month.

Originally launched in March 2013, the campaign was targeted at promoting confidence in women through natural beauty.
