Asda has really outdone itself this time. The supermarket has only gone and combined two of life’s great joys – gin and cake.

So, if gin is your thing, then you’ll be wanting this cake at your next celebration.

This pretty in pink cake, made up of layers of madeira sponge with a pink-gin flavoured soak combined with sweet jam, will be the standout dessert at any gathering.

Covered with a pink frosting and miniature, edible gin bottles for added wow-factor, this cake almost looks too good to eat. Almost.

It’s available in stores and online now for £12 and it serves 18 people.

Sarah Burns, Asda product developer, said: “We know our customers love a novelty cake and this one, for adults only, oozes sophistication.

“Enjoy in the evening with a favourite gin and tonic or, for something new, why not enjoy afternoon tea with a twist?!”

Pink gin’s popularity is only continuing to grow with everything from pink gin ice lollies to pink gin whipped cream lining the shelves.

We’re also huge fans of Asda’s Cherry Blossom flavoured pink gin they released for Valentine’s Day and their raspberry and rose flavoured Sparkly Pink Gin liqueur…
