Celebrities including Prue Leith, Sir David Attenborough, Mary Berry, Annette Badland and Dr Rangan Chatterjee have joined the #OurPlasticFeedback campaign across social media this week.

The seven-day public movement was ignited by BBC One show War On Plastic, which saw presenters Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and Anita Rani uncover the secrets behind many of the single-use plastic items we use every day.

The #OurPlasticFeedback campaign is asking UK public to speak up about unwanted plastic found on our supermarket shelves by writing messages on plastic packaging and returning it to the supermarkets.

Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall posted an image on his Twitter alongside Sir David Attenborough with the message: "In the simple and compelling words of Sir David Attenborough, "Dear Supermarkets, for the sake of the planet, less plastic please!" #OurPlasticFeedback."

Mary Berry

Dr Rangan Chatterjee

Author and presenter Dr Rangan Chatterjee took to Instagram to lend his support. He explained: "I'm absolutely delighted to support Hugh and Anita's 'War On Plastic'. Have you been watching it on BBC One over the past few weeks? It's time to make a change and as hard as we might try in our own homes, we need action from big business, and fast!"

How you can get involved...

It's still not too late to get involved yourself. All you have to do is communicate your feedback on plastic waste to your local supermarket. You can also share your hand-written message across social media using the #OurPlasticFeedback hashtag to encourage others to do so also.
