Dax Shepard Opens Up About Dating ‘Wonderful’ Ashley Olsen And Being ‘Thunderstruck By Her Beauty'
Ashley Olsen made her first red carpet appearance in two years last September, along with her twin sister Mary-Kate, when attending the 20th Anniversary celebration for the Young Eisner Scholars in Beverly Hills.
The time before that, the twins were pictured at the Youth America Grand Prix's 20th Anniversary Gala in New York in 2019.
For their most recent event together, which saw The Row co-founders dressed in signature all black ensembles, Ashley Olsen was joined by her boyfriend Louis Eisner, who she began dating in 2017 and was rumoured to be engaged to in 2019.
And while Olsen has kept her romance with Eisner under wraps, as she has with most of her relationships in recent years, a surprising revelation about her former love life has now surfaced.
Actor Dax Shepard, who's married to fellow star Kristen Bell, recently revealed that he once dated the fashion designer '15 or 16 years ago'.
Speaking on an episode of his Armchair Expert podcast on February 28, the Parenthood star said of Olsen: 'She’s just the most wonderful person. She’s fantastic.'
The father-of-two explained that when they were dating, it was at a point 'when she was putting all her energy and focus into launching' her and Mary-Kate's clothing line 'in a big way'.
Continuing to discuss the actor-turned-fashion designer with co-host Monica Padman, he added: 'So, I was able to see her meet with design teams and, like, run her s**t and she handled her [business], and it’s very impressive.'
Later, when discussing Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen, who started out as child actors on ABC American sitcom Full House, before co-starring in movies such as New York Minute and When in Rome, Shepard said: 'They are major f***ing bosses.'
The 47-year-old, who starred in 2010 romance comedy When in Rome with his wife Bell, also spoke about being taken aback by Ashley Olsen when they first met. 'I just saw her at a party and was kind of thunderstruck by her beauty,' he said.
Prior to her relationship with Eisner, It Takes Two star Olsen was romantically involved with financier Richard Sachs. Another one her public romances includes her three-year relationship with The Hangover's Justin Bartha.
As for Mary-Kate, her marriage to French banker Olivier Sarkozy ended in 2021.
It is understood that the pair, who wed in 2015, after dating for three years, commenced divorce proceedings when 'the relationship had broken down irretrievably'. It was also reported that while Olsen wanted children, Sarkozy who already had two children from a previous marriage, did not.
