Desperate Housewives will always hold a special place in our hearts. For 12 years we eagerly followed the ups and downs of Wisteria Lane, with the show sadly coming to an end a decade ago.

However, it seems like there's finally cause for celebration, as producers have dropped a *huge* hint that Desperate Housewives could be set for a 2022 reboot. Big! News!

The series originally aired for eight seasons between 2004 and 2012, before the final episode hit screens on 13th May 2012. Since then, fans have been, erm, desperately hoping that we'd see a revival of the show, and it looks like our dreams may actually be coming true.

Speculation of a reboot first surfaced following a tweet from the official ABC Desperate Housewives account. Dropping a pretty massive hint, producers wrote, "*Desperately* waiting for 2022," alongside a photo of the show's lead cast members including Eva Longoria, Marcia Cross and Teri Hatcher.

What does it mean, ABC?

While the network hasn't expanded on whether the show is getting a reboot (or whether the tweet is hinting towards something else entirely) fans certainly seem to think a revival could be on the cards.

One fan wrote, "If this gets a reboot I'll never complain about anything EVER AGAIN," while another added, "This is the only reboot that the world actually needs".

Sadly, nothing has been confirmed, though a 2022 reboot would be fitting, given the fact that this year marks a decade since Desperate Housewives came off air.

Series star Eva Longoria previously opened up about the possibility of a show revival, telling the Radio Times in October 2021, "I feel like he [series creator Marc Cherry] just felt like it’s run its course but, I always talk to Marc.

"I was actually talking to him the other day and we both just think there’s so much more to do there and I would be the first to sign up if he did anything."

Fingers crossed!
