Dove Cameron ditches her black locks for new dark cherry red hair transformation

When it comes to dramatic hair transformations, it seems Dove Cameron doesn't shy away from switching up her shade. The Disney star was iconically blonde, to then dye it pitch black and now the singer has rung in her 27th birthday celebrations with a new cherry red colour. We had to do a double take, Jessica Rabbit, is that you?

I mean, is there a hair colour Dove doesn't suit? We don't think so. The 'Boyfriend' singer debuted the new look in a Instagram carousel revolving around all the bday celebrations. If you'd be so kind as to go to the last slide, you'll see the particular pic we're talking about in relation to her being a real-life Jessica Rabbit, or Ariel – take your pick.

We also have the same request as that last comment. As we've mentioned, Dove doesn't shy away from experimenting with her hair colour, but the big question is, is it a wig? While her previous blonde and dark locks have been permanent, the singer does play around with wigs on occasion. Just take a look at this yellow peroxide number:

Alas, only time will tell if she's just messing with us, but we're hoping this Little Mermaid-esque change is here to stay.
