Dwayne Johnson is best known for blood and thunder workouts and throwing down in action films, but we don't often get to see his softer side. However, Hollywood's hardest worker was almost brought to tears yesterday when comedian Rob Delaney thanked him for reaching out and offering condolences after his two-year-old son passed away.

The moment happened as Johnson and Delaney were appearing on BBC's The One Show, discussing their upcoming projects. The pair know each other from their work on the Hobbs and Shaw movie, although they didn't know each other when Delaney's son Henry tragically died of a brain tumour in January 2018.

Still, that didn't stop Johnson from contacting Delaney when he heard what had happened to Henry, and the comedian revealed just how Johnson's kind words had helped him at a difficult time.

"We hadn't [worked together] at this point but yeah he sent me a lovely tweet after Henry died which he didn't have to do, you know? And that was very sweet and made me feel great, and then a couple of years later we did Hobbs and Shaw," Delaney said.

While Johnson was on The One Show to promote his new superhero flick Black Adam, Delaney is currently touring his new book A Heart that Works, which has been described as "an intimate, unflinching and fiercely funny exploration of loss".

On the show, Johnson also revealed his reasoning for reaching out to Delaney, simply saying, "I have babies...that story, hearing that rocked us in our household."
