If you've spent Boxing Day on the sofa eating copious amounts of chocolate coins and binge-watching the newest Netflix series Treason (us too), then you're probably wondering what the hell was going on during that tense final episode.

To recap: Treason is Netflix's newest drama series, starring Charlie Cox as the deputy head for MI6, Adam. When a plot to get rid of the current head of MI6 unfurls, Adam steps in but soon finds his new role is a lot trickier than it first appears, thanks to people and secrets from his past coming back into his life.

The five part series dropped today (26th December) and it's safe to say we're pretty much obsessed with the intriguing espionage story. In fact, we've already raced to the tense final episode, and there is a lot to unpack.

The final episode of Treason opens up with Adam (Charlie Cox) calling Malik to arrange a meeting and Maddy (Oona Chaplin) sending a message to Audrey (Alex Kingston) that Adam has been set up.

Maddy and Audrey then meet up, where Maddy reveals Adam gave the secret files on Audrey's family. She goes onto explain Angelis (the head of MI6) has secret files on everyone in the government, including one that has a Russian plot to install Audrey's rival Kirby, as Prime Minister.

After much convincing from Maddy, Audrey agrees to spare Adam from prosecution when he gives her the file.

Malik meets up with Kara (Olga Kurylenko) and Adam who tell him Angelis was blackmailing the head of the supreme court and has information on everyone he then uses as leverage.

Adam and Kara track Olamide down, where he is seen digitising the files. They plan to ambush him and his colleague, however Maddy, the CIA and Dede also appear. During the ambush, Kara uncovers a file which suggests MI6 believes Adam is Dorian, the secret double agent, who killed Kara's men in Baku.

Kara ends up killing Olamide, after he attacks her. Kara and Maddy then watch Dede confront Adam, before shooting him and killing him as Maddy runs to them.

Angelis then lies to his team and says it is Kara who killed Adam, not Dede.

Maddy calls Audrey to say they have the files and reveals Adam has been killed. Audrey then orders Maddy to give Angelis back the files, rather than use them to share the truth of what Adam did.

Maddy and Kara share a glass of wine, and Kara explains why Angelis believed Adam was a double agent. She found a transcript of a phone conversation before the CIA arrived, which involved two SVR agents talking about a British double agent called Dorian in Baku.

Dorian killed Kara's men, which provoked the city and caused it to fall to the Russians. Kara goes onto explain Adam was not Dorian, as he was with her the night her men were killed.

Kara calls her associate and appears to offers her the files Maddy has in exchange for a plane trip home. However, she then reveals to Maddy this is their way of being able to find out who Dorian is, as he will come to their car to collect the files, as he is the only one with a cover and they will be able to discover his identity.

At the committee meeting Angelis claims Adam committed an act of treason and was working with Lord Melnikov and Kara in order to influence the result of the election.

Maddy heads towards the chamber where she runs into Adam's friend Patrick (Adam James). Patrick appears to act like a caring friend and then asks for the files, claiming Adam would give them to him. It's at this moment Maddy realises Patrick is Dorian.

Maddy manages to get away from Patrick and gives the files to Audrey, who exposes the truth about what Angelis is doing to blackmail senior members of aristocracy and politicians.

Maddy confronts Angelis and reveals Patrick is Dorian. Determined not to let Patrick get away with murdering her friends, Kara bumps into Patrick and slips a photo of her friends covered in poison into his suit pocket, which rapidly kills him when he opens it.

Treason ends with the revelation Angelis has been arrested and Maddy calling Dede threatening to expose what she did. Kara plans to head back to Russia and Maddy reunites with her children.

Ok, but now I need to know what happens to Maddy and the kids. A season two is needed asap please Netflix.
