Awards season is officially underway, marked by the star-studded carpet at last night's 80th Annual Golden Globes Awards. The red carpet, which took place at The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, delivered a plethora of glamorous celebrity beauty looks, from Selena Gomez's sky high ponytail, and Jenna Ortega's shaggy undone hair, to Julia Garner and Elizabeth Debicki's au natural make-up minimalism.

The most striking trend of the night is most notably an intentional lack of lips (well, a lack of bright lips). While most award shows see a Moulin Rouge red or two, last night's lip look of choice was soft and subdued, think delicate rosey hues and ever flattering blush shades.

Daisy Edgar-Jones (sporting Chanel's Rouge Allure Velvet in Intemporelle), Jessica Chastain (in Charlotte Tilbury's classic Pillowtalk) and Margot Robbie (a combination of Chanel's Rouge Allure Velvets in Intuitive and Éternelle) all opted out of a statement lip look and instead veered towards the healthy flush of a skin-like pink.

But there was one floral mauve shade that reigned supreme and that, of course, belonged to Ana de Armas.

Drawing inspiration from the actor's Best Actress-nominated role as Marilyn Monroe in Blonde, celebrity artist Melanie Inglessis wanted to maintain a sense of De Armas' contemporary personality with an old Hollywood twist.

'I wanted Ana to look effortless; a combination of the modern woman that she is mixed with old Hollywood glamour, inspired by Marilyn Monroe,' said Inglessis. 'We wanted her skin to be luminous, complemented by a sharp cat eye and a perfectly stained rosy-mauve lip.'

The rose-hued matte, named 'Stolen Heart', is a yet-to-be-released shade from Estée Lauder's upcoming Pure Color Lipstick Collection, a long-wearing eighty-shade line housed in a retro 1960s case inspired by the original Estée Lauder lipsticks of the decade.

The covetable lipstick shade perfectly complemented De Armas' otherwise pared back make-up look, which featured a Monroe-esque cat eye with warm and luminous skin. The aim? A feature enhancing natural look with a modern retro twist.

Over on hair, A-list go-to hairstylist, Jenny Cho, created a sleek and curvy blowdry using the Dyson Supersonic Hairdryer and Corrale Straightener to shape De Armas' hair before finishing with a liquid shine courtesy of a combination of Sol de Janeiro's Brazilian Joia Milky Leave-in Conditioner and Glossy Nourishing Hair Oil.
