FKA Twigs achieves 'full-circle moment' by landing Viktor & Rolf perfume campaign

FKA Twigs used to work on the Viktor & Rolf fragrance counter at London department store Selfridges and now she's the face of the brand's new perfume.

Twigs, real name Tahliah Barnett, stuns in the artwork for the Good Fortune campaign, dressed as a fortune teller in a purple hooded cape and matching gown, with the perfume bottle serving as a crystal ball.

Talking to British Vogue about landing the job, the singer-songwriter, dancer and actress explained why it's been such a full-circle moment.

"I used to work on the fragrance counter at Selfridges for Viktor & Rolf. I used to sell Flowerbomb," she shared. "It’s so funny, I used to take the Viktor & Rolf ribbon home and I would tie it as a bow around a T-shirt and then go out, and people would be like, 'Oh my God, is your top from Viktor & Rolf?' and I’d be like, 'Yeah.’ This was when I was a struggling artist. I love the narrative of now being the face of Good Fortune. It’s really exciting."

And it's not just the circumstances surrounding the gig that the 34-year-old is excited about; she also loves the smell of the perfume and the fact that it's vegan-friendly.

"It’s a really beautiful fragrance," she smiled. "It has vanilla and jasmine in it which are my go-to’s in fragrances. I also love the messaging behind it; for me, the beautiful amethyst replica on the top represents a curiosity about the world. It’s the first-ever luxury vegan fragrance from L’Oréal, and I think that’s so beautiful."
