Foo Fighters’ Taylor Hawkins London tribute show to be livestreamed

The upcoming London tribute concert in memory of Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins will be livestreamed, while a host of new acts have also been added to the line-up.

In June, Foo Fighters announced they would play two special tribute concerts in London and Los Angeles to celebrate the life of their late drummer, who was found dead at his hotel room in Bogotá, Colombia in March, hours before the band were due to play a show.

The London date will take place 3 September at Wembley Stadium, and boasts a star-studded line-up including the newly announced acts Travis Barker of Blink-182, Metallica’s Lars Ulrich, Brian Johnson of AC/DC and Kesha.

They will join previously announced artists Liam Gallagher, Mark Ronson, Nile Rodgers, The Pretenders’ Chrissie Hynde, Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones, Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic, 12-year-old viral drumming sensation Nandi Bushell and more.

The Los Angeles date at the Kia Forum takes place on 27 September, where Ulrich, Barker, Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler, Sebastian Bach and more have been added, joining the likes of P!nk, Alanis Morissette, Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor, LeAnn Rimes and Novoselic.

The London show will be streamed on Paramount+ in the US, MTV’s YouTube channels globally, and Pluto TV internationally. You can find information on how to watch here.

Announcing the shows back in June, Foo Fighters said in a statement: “As one of the most respected and beloved figures in modern music, Taylor’s monolithic talent and magnetic personality endeared him to millions of fans, peers, friends and fellow musical legends the world over. Millions mourned his untimely passing on March 25, with passionate and sincere tributes coming from fans as well as musicians Taylor idolised.

“The Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concerts will unite several of those artists, the Hawkins family and of course his Foo Fighters brothers in celebration of Taylor’s memory and his legacy as a global rock icon—his bandmates and his inspirations playing the songs that he fell in love with, and the ones he brought to life.”
