Francis McDormand and Tom Hanks join an all-star cast for a brand new movie

Wes Anderson, the director of The Grand Budapest Hotel, Isle of Dogs and many more colourful oddities, is working on a brand new film.

As reported by TheWrap, the film has cast a host of top Hollywood names including Frances McDormand and also Tom Hanks in a minor role. The pair will be joining Tilda Swinton, Adrien Brody and Bill Murray who each lead a different storyline.

The director's latest film The French Dispatch (or, if you want the full title, (The French Dispatch of the Liberty, Kansas Evening Sun) was meant to release a year ago but it was delayed due to the pandemic.

Across the different storylines, the film stars Swinton, Brody and Murray, as well as a large cast including Benicio del Toro, Léa Seydoux, Jason Schwartzman, Timothée Chalamet, Saoirse Ronan, Jeffrey Wright, Owen Wilson, Liev Schreiber, Edward Norton, Willem Dafoe, Elisabeth Moss and Anjelica Huston.

Wes Anderson has written and directed the film, and it will be filming in Spain soon, but details of the plot have so far been kept top secret.

The film finally premiered at Cannes earlier this month, and is scheduled for release in October.
