George and Amal Clooney had a royal date with Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace to celebrate the Princes' Trust Group last night (March 12).

Human rights lawyer Amal, 41, looked elegant in a Stephane Rolland white Grecian-style gown with a one-sleeved cape, while Hollywood actor Clooney, 57, wore a black tuxedo.

The power couple were joined by British actor and director Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Cumberbatch, Luke Evans, Josh Hartnett and Tamsin Egerton.

Charles hosted the dinner for donors, supporters and ambassadors of Prince's Trust International, which aims to improve the lives of young people. The Trust has pilot programmes underway and established partners delivering programmes in Australia, Canada, India, Barbados, Jordan, Pakistan and Malta.

Since Charles founded the trust in 1976, more than 870,000 disadvantaged young people across the UK have been helped. The trust aims to use its expertise and experience to help organisations overcome the global issue of youth unemployment, and have set up Prince’s Trust International to focus on supporting young people overseas.

This isn't the first royal event for George and Amal - the pair previously attended Prince Harry and Meghan's wedding at St George's Chapel in Windsor in May last year.

Amal also supported close friend the Duchess of Sussex at her baby shower in New York last month. Their friendship blossomed when Meghan moved to London in 2017, with a source telling People: "Meghan and Amal have known each other for a while [and share] many interests.

"Amal has been helping Meghan settle into London life. It was a very natural friendship from day one."
