Harry Styles’ dancers have addressed the mishap during his Grammys performance

The 65th Grammy awards took place on Monday 6th February in Los Angeles, and the stars were out in full force to celebrate music's biggest night. From Beyoncé making history with the most wins ever to Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez's tense conversation accidentally being caught on camera, there's been a *lot* to unpack in the days since. Not to mention the mishap during Harry Style's performance of his hit 'As it Was.'

ICYMI, there have been a fair few negative reactions circulating online following the show, which has led to two of Harry's dancers speaking out to address what actually happened in the routine.

In a since-expired Instagram video that's been reshared on Twitter, pro dancer Brandon Mathis said: "But what you don't know is that the moment the curtain opened and it was time to perform, our turntable started spinning in reverse. Backward. Freaking all of us out on live television, and there was nothing we could do to stop it."

Explaining that they'd been solidly "rehearsing this piece perfectly" for over a week, Mathis shared how the entire crew had to adjust to the mistake and carry on with the show.

"And in real time, we have to troubleshoot and try to do a complete piece in reverse. Talk about professionalism," he added.

Fellow dancer Dexter also took to social media to document the event, adding in a now-deleted TikTok that the performance included "these beautiful formations" and was "gorgeous" and "amazing" during dress rehearsals.

According to Entertainment Tonight, the video said: "To switch all those patterns around on the spot, having not even walked in that direction, it sounds easy."

"Since it's circular, it pulls you in different directions and is such a special type of balance," Dexter added.

"We got accustomed to one way, and it was the opposite way. So, luckily we worked together and did our best and got to one cool formation in time for the overhead shot but had to change the rest."

Despite the out-of-their-hands blunder, it wasn't all doom and gloom for the 'Golden' singer. In fact, it was the opposite, as the 29-year-old ended up taking home two major awards, including Best Pop Vocal Album and Album of the Year for 'Harry's House.'
