Harry Styles denies new song Daylight is about ex Taylor Swift

Harry Styles has shut down speculation that his new track Daylight is about his ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift.

The former One Direction star appeared on Howard Stern's SiriusXM radio show on Wednesday and discussed Daylight, one of his favourite songs on his new album Harry's House. He explained that it is about a woman who blows him off, leaving him feeling frustrated.

The radio DJ then pointed out that Taylor, who dated Harry between 2012 and 2013, also has a song called Daylight on her 2019 album Lover.

"You're smiling," Howard said as he made the observation, and the As It Was star quickly shut him down, replying, "You know I'd love to tell you you're spot-on, but you're not... We will always wonder."

The DJ read out some of Daylight's lyrics, saying, "Reading your horoscope, you were doing cocaine in my kitchen/ You never listen/ I hope you're missing me by now/ If I was a bluebird I would fly to you/ You be the spoon, dip you in honey so I can stick to you."

The 28-year-old revealed that he created the song during a "stream of consciousness" moment in the recording studio late at night. The band pulled an all-nighter to finish it and celebrated by watching the sunrise on the beach, reports ET Canada.
