Jennifer Hudson has come a long way since we saw her on the American Idol stage wearing a pink dress and matching headband that was simply the pinnacle of early 2000s fashion.

She posted a snap of herself rocking a floor-length custom-made gold gown by Gaurav Gupta. It has intricate hand-sewn beading, exaggerated sleeves, and a cape that has me drooling. When she’s not busy running her business, JHud is keeping things tight in the gym and in the kitchen. She lost 70 pounds after her run on American Idol, going from a size 16 to a size 6, which was widely praised at the time. But JHud is a gorgeous human at any size!

Jennifer has said she feels healthier at this weight, and to keep the weight off, she avoids snacking, she told Yahoo Style. And she has interesting techniques for stopping herself during a snacking sesh that’s getting out of hand. (Relatable, I had one such session last night with some chips and guac. Yum)

'I throw the pancakes across the room! I don't let the food intimidate me,' she told Yahoo. 'If it's too much, I just get rid of it... And I make sure I know what it is. It's all about portions for the most part.'

Because of her breakneck schedule, Jen doesn’t have a ton of time to work out so everything happens in the kitchen. 'I'm very careful and cautious of what I'm eating, so I just try to pace those meals throughout the day. Like, okay, eat here, don't eat here,' she told Lorraine in 2017. 'I'm very conscious of what I put in my body.'

Though she’s not beating herself up in the gym, she does keep active. Jennifer says she loves to play basketball which I love for her. She also eats at least one piece of chocolate every day, according to Good Housekeeping.

Now there's a philosophy I can get behind.
