The And Just Like That writers have slammed actor John Corbett for lying about his character Aidan Shaw being involved in the Sex And The City revival. Oh dear.

Following the AJLT finale on Thursday night (3 February), writer Julie Rottenberg and executive producer Michael Patrick King have responded to fan upset that Carrie Bradshaw's on-and-off love interest Aidan didn't return for the new show.

The pair insist actor Corbett, 60, was never intended to be a part of And Just Like That, and that any claims he made about it were false. "John Corbett should be writing personal apology notes," Rottenberg told Deadline. "We didn't say anything."

King continued, "The fact of the matter is, we never said anything about Aidan. We always try to be very restrained and look at the reality of what people are experiencing and it has nothing to do with Aidan coming or not coming."

He added, "[Aidan's return] is a big storyline that everybody at home wrote that we had never intended."

Back in April 2021, John Corbett told Page Six, "I’m going to do the show" adding that it was "very exciting. I think I might be in quite a few [episodes.] I like all those people, they’ve been very nice to me."

That's kind of awkward. Maybe it was all a decoy? In reality, And Just Like That centred around Carrie getting over Mr Big's death, experimenting with dating apps and dealing with loss.

Perhaps Aidan will be back for season two if it goes ahead...
