As hairdressers reopen after months of us all attempting to cover our roots at home, we can finally take the plunge and go for that drastic transformation we've been putting off all this time.

Whether it's a big chop, or a complete colour change like Khloe Kardashian's blonde to brunette.

One person who we weren't expecting to see a hair makeover from was Kate Middleton.

The Duchess has nailed her signature bouncy blowdry and while she's dabbled with a slightly shorter length and an outgrown fringe, her natural brunette shade remains a constant.

Or so we thought, until she did some filming for BBC Breakfast and revealed that she's now lightened her dark locks in favour of a honey blonde shade.

Not only has Kate overhauled her colour, but she's also had some very '90s esque face-framing layers chopped in. Which we are all currently coveting as Jennifer Aniston's iconic Rachel style makes a comeback.

Clearly Kate has incredible hair naturally (that volume, we could never) but by adding more caramel highlights, her hair now has even more dimension and depth. Which makes it appear even thicker.

Putting our lockdown wardrobe to absolute shame, Kate looked as polished as ever in a black polkadot dress teamed with nude espadrilles.

The filming was for a segment called 'Tiny Happy People', which will provide a range of free resources to support parents and carers in developing children's language.
