Kim Cattrall is once again returning to our TV screens to star in a new Netflix series, Glamorous.

The show follows the story of a gender non-conforming queer person, Marco Mejia – played by YouTube star Miss Benny – who is trying to make it big in the beauty industry while figuring out what it really means to be queer, and who starts working for make-up mogul Madolyn Addison, played by Cattrall.

Glamorous will be a 10-episode long series and shooting will start in July in Toronto, reports Variety.

Although not much has been revealed yet about her new project, Sex and the City fans will undoubtedly be pleased at the news of Cattrall's casting, particularly given that she was missing from the series reboot, And Just Like That. Cattrall has made it very clear in recent years that she has no intention of returning to her role as Samantha Jones, and says she was not asked to join Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie Bradshaw), Cynthia Nixon (Miranda Hobbes) and Kristin Davis (Charlotte York) in the reunion show.

Her absence was however written into the show, highlighting the way that friendships and relationships change over time.

HBO’s chief content officer Casey Bloys explained at the time: “The showrunners aren’t trying to re-do Sex and the City. They’re not trying to say that these characters are reliving their 30s. It is very much a story about women in their 50s, and they are dealing with things that people deal with in their 50s.”

“Just as in real life, people come into your life and people leave,” he continued. “Friendships fade, and new friendships start. So I think it is all very indicative of the real stages, the actual stages of life.”

Since her Sex and the City days, Cattrall has appeared in a number of shows such as Queer as Folk, Filthy Rich and Sensitive Skin.
