Kim Kardashian and Ciara tapped to star in 2022 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue

Kim Kardashian and Ciara have been selected to pose for the 2022 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.

Editor-in-chief MJ Day announced on Monday that the superstars, along with Maye Musk and Yumi Nu, had been tapped to star in the annual issue.

Kardashian shot her cover in the Dominican Republic with photographer Greg Swales. The reality TV star opted to wear several metallic swimsuits for her photoshoot, as well as a nude two-piece for her cover image.

Reflecting on the gig, Kardashian gushed that it was a dream come true.

"I vividly remember Tyra Banks on the cover and women with curves, I remember thinking that was just so cool. But I still thought you had to be a professional model and a runway model," she told the publication. "It was always really young girls. I don't want to date myself or sound old. But in my 40s? That's crazy! I never thought in a million years that I would be shooting one myself."

Meanwhile, Ciara sported a leopard print swimsuit and cowboy hat for her photoshoot, while 74-year-old model/dietician Musk opted for an orange one-piece with ruffle detailing. And singer/model Nu, who is also a recording artist, dazzled in a black design with cutouts.

"The journey we've been on - to break out of the mould the world put us in - may sound familiar," commented Day. "It's certainly familiar to the women we've chosen to be our cover models: Maye, Ciara, Yumi, Kim.

"We all deserve the chance to evolve. So, in this issue, we encourage readers to see these models as we see them: multifaceted, multitalented-and sexy while they're at it. The world may label them one way, but we want to focus our lens on all the ways they see themselves and how they own who they are."
