Lily Collins cringes at her icy blue make-up stage
Lily Collins is glad social media didn't exist when she was going through her icy blue make-up phase.
The actress plays uber chic Emily Cooper in Netflix's smash hit show Emily in Paris, but in real life, she hasn't always been so stylish.
Recounting a beauty fail in a chat with InStyle, the 33-year-old admitted her past penchant for blue make-up still baffles her.
"When I was still in school, I remember going to the 99 cent store in LA, and getting an icy blue frosted lipstick from the make-up section. I would wear blue eyeshadow and that frosted blue lipstick whenever I could and to this day, I don't really understand why," she laughed. "I'm happy that was a choice I made before social media existed."
As well as her acting work, Lily has also recently taken on a new role with haircare company Living Proof as a brand ambassador, and she explained that when it comes to her own hair, her time in Paris has left a lasting impact on how she styles it.
"I've been spending so much time in France, and there's a real Parisan je ne sais quoi thing about bangs (a fringe) I was constantly seeing on the street and it made me want to do it," she said of the haircut she debuted during the winter. "I feel like beauty-wise, I've been basing my choices off the French's less-is-more approach to beauty."
