Meghan Markle virtually took to the stage at Girl Up’s Global Leadership Summit 2020 on Tuesday.

The movement, which was founded by the UN Foundation in 2010, helps to advance girls' skills, rights, and opportunities to be leaders.

In the pre-recorded clip, Meghan was seen at her LA home where she has been living for the past few months with Prince Harry and Archie.

The former actress had noticeably longer hair and wore a statement cobalt top for the occasion.

The statement item is believed to be by Adam Lippes, an American designer who fuses sportswear with a modern elegance.

The Pintucked Silk Crepe De Chine Top originally retailed for £855, before being reduced to £299 on The Outnet - and promptly sold out.

A similar top is currently on sale on Net-A-Porter for £249, along with numerous other royal-blue garments by the designer, which have up to 70% off.

Meghan accessorised the look with a gold Cartier Love bracelet, which she has owned for several years.

In the keynote talk Meghan spoke about the work women are doing around the world to improve social issues such as gun reform, mental health, women's rights and Black Lives Matter.

She said: “"This is a humanity that desperately needs you. To push it, to push us, forcefully in a more inclusive, more just, and more empathetic direction. To not only frame the debate, but be in charge of the debate—on racial justice, gender, climate change, mental health and wellbeing."

Meghan wasn’t the only recognisable face to appear at the summit, an array of high-profile women were also on the schedule, including Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton and Priyanka Chopra.
