Meghan Markle's hairdresser has shared a sweet update after meeting her children during their trip to the UK for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

George Northwood has described his experience of "cute" Archie, three, and "beautiful" Lilibet, one, who he met while styling their mother's hair for her first official royal appearance in over two years.

In a post on Instagram, the celebrity stylist – who has worked with the locks of Rachel Weisz, Alicia Vikander and Julianne Moore – shared pictures of the Duchess of Sussex attending the Thanksgiving service at St Paul's Cathedral on Friday.

He wrote: "So nostalgic and wonderful to be reunited Harry, Meghan and their family in the UK.

"Archie has grown to be the cutest, well mannered little boy and Lilibet is just beautiful."

Despite accompanying their parents to the UK, the Sussex children haven't so far been seen in public during their stay.

While Archie was born in the UK and lived here for the early months of his life, it is a first visit for Lilibet, who turned one yesterday.

Northwood's post has been 'liked' more than 5,200 times, with many praising his handiwork on the duchess' locks.

The top hairdresser created a sleek low bun that complemented the mother-of-two's head-to-toe white Dior outfit.

Northwood has styled her hair numerous times in the past, including her chignon for the evening part of her wedding to Prince Harry in 2018.

He has previously spoken to Vogue about how he came to work with the duchess – including for her royal tours – up until she left the UK in 2020.

Of them being introduced through mutual acquaintances shortly after she arrived in London, the hairdresser recalled: "I think I met her in February, around Valentine’s Day 2018.

"I was a bit worked up beforehand and then, as soon as I met her, she was just like my California girl clients.

"She said, ‘I’m a Cali girl,' and I just said, ‘One of my favourites then.’ We hit it off – we immediately spoke the same language."
