Meghan Markle Wore a Special Tribute to Her Future Daughter During Her ‘Vax Live’ Concert
Meghan Markle made a very special appearance this weekend. And she included a special tribute to her soon-to-be daughter in her ensemble.
On Saturday, Global Citizen hosted the 'VAX Live' concert event in an effort to raise awareness and funds for equitable COVID-19 vaccine distribution across the globe. The pre-taped show, which was hosted by Selena Gomez and included performances from stars like J.Lo and J Balvin, also included two rare speeches from the Duchess of Sussex and her hubby, Prince Harry, who acted as campaign chairs for the event.
And while we were happy to see the expecting mother (who was absolutely glowing), we almost missed one major detail from her ensemble: a "Woman Power Charm Necklace" by Awe Inspired. According to the website, the 14K gold accessory combines the female Venus symbol with a protesting fist and is embellished with a purple amethyst. The piece represents “abundance and enlightenment.” Per InStyle, the necklace is also likely a sweet nod to her daughter, whom she will welcome this summer
Speaking from her home in Montecito, the ex-royal discussed the harrowing impact coronavirus has on women as well as how excited she is to be welcoming a daughter. “Women and especially women of color, have seen a generation of economic gain wiped out. Since the pandemic began, nearly five and a half million women have lost work in the U.S. and 47 million more women around the world are expected to slip into extreme poverty,” she said. “My husband and I are thrilled to soon be welcoming a daughter. It’s a feeling of joy we share with millions of other families around the world. When we think of her, we think of all the other families around the globe who must be given the ability and support to lead us forward.”
