Meghan Markle's hairstylist shares sweet details about Archie and Lilibet after reunion
The Duchess of Sussex's hairstylist, George Northwood, has shared details about Archie and Lilibet after his reunion with the Sussex family for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
Meghan and Harry arrived back in the UK for their first appearance with the royal family in two years, which saw the couple privately attend Trooping the Colour and, more publicly, the Service of Thanksgiving for the Queen's 70-year reign.
Northwood, the British hairdresser known for creating much-copied styles for the likes of Alexa Chung, Rachel Weisz and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, styled Meghan's hair in an elegant bun for the service on Friday, and revealed on Instagram that he had spent time with Archie, 3, and Lilibet, who turned 1 on June 4.
'So nostalgic and wonderful to be reunited Harry, Meghan and their family in the UK. Archie has grown to be the cutest, well mannered little boy and Lilibet is just beautiful,' he wrote in a post, alongside images of Meghan at the service at St Paul's Cathedral.
Northwood famously created the low-key bun that Meghan sported for her wedding evening reception, which worked beautifully with her understated Stella McCartney high-neck gown. The hairstyle has firmly become a signature of hers, whether in sleek and neat or casually messy iterations.
Northwood also created the elegant up-do Meghan wore for the British Fashion Awards in 2018 and also created her loose waves during her successful royal tour with Harry in Australia.
In 2020, he styled her ponytail at the Endeavour Fund Awards, when Harry and Meghan made their first joint public appearance since announcing that they would be stepping down as senior members of the royal family.
Since then, Northwood has released his eponymous product line, Undone, which features a range of shampoos, conditioners and styling products (including a trio of tools) designed to condition and smooth hair to allow it to look its best without an hour spent wielding the hair straighteners.
'The range is called Undone, because this reflects my signature style, but I also wanted to ‘undo’ the maze of hair,' Northwood explained. 'I was committed to ensuring that my range is formulated with the very best quality ingredients and I have worked hard to ensure my formulations are efficacious and able to challenge the very best products that are currently on the market.'
Meanwhile, it was reported that Meghan and Harry introduced Lilibet to the Queen and other senior royals for the first time on Friday (June 3rd). The Sussex family are said to be heading back in the US shortly, and won't be attending the Epsom Derby for day three of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
