Meryl Streep, Jake Gyllenhaal, Lin-Manuel Miranda and more in huge online show celebrating Stephen Sondheim

A once-in-a-lifetime line-up of stars including Meryl Streep, Jake Gyllenhaal and Lin-Manuel Miranda will come together for a performance celebrating Stephen Sondheim’s 90th birthday.

Take Me To The World will stream live on Broadway.com and Youtube in the early hours of Monday April 27, also coinciding with the 50th anniversary of Sondheim’s Company.

The show will feature the composer’s songs performed by many artists who gave iconic performances in his musicalsPatti LuPone, Bernadette Peters, Christine Baranski and Ben Platt to name a few.

The event, hosted by Raúl Esparza who played the starring role in the Tony Award winning 2006 production of Company, will be raising money for ASTEP (Artists Striving To End Poverty).

There will be special appearances from Stephen Spielberg, Nathan Lane, Victor Garber and Joanna Gleason.

The full line-up also includes Annaleigh Ashford, Laura Benanti, Melissa Errico, Beanie Feldstein, Josh Groban, Neil Patrick Harris, Judy Kuhn, Linda Lavin, Randy Rainbow, Lea Salonga, Mandy Patinkin, Audra McDonald, Donna Murphy, Kristin Chenoweth, Sutton Foster, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Kelli O’Hara, Aaron Tveit, Maria Friedman, Katrina Lenk, Michael Cerveris, Brandon Uranowitz, Elizabeth Stanley, Chip Zien, Alexander Gemignani, Iain Armitage and Stephen Schwartz.

Take Me To The World is a song from Sondheim’s musical with James Goldman, Evening Primrose.

This will be one for night-owls and Sondheim super-fans, as the time-difference means the event will take place at 1am in the morning of Monday April 27.
