We hate to break it to you, but Mr Porter's Black Friday sale isn't a given. Two years ago the luxury e-tailer took a hiatus from the event, only to return – generous discounts in tow – for 2020. Luckily, it's similar news this November.
In fact, Mr Porter has launched its Black Friday sale two days early for 2021. So from now until the weekend, you can shop edited new-season bits at 30 per cent off. Some designers are excluded (the usual culprits), but there's plenty of Margiela, Margaret Howell, Lemaire, Carharrt, Casablanca, Jacquemus and JW Anderson to peruse.
When Black Friday first hit British shores, it was a chance to get hold of cheap TVs and smartphones. Now, though, the luxury industry has cottoned on, and the sales day has now become the best time to fill any gaps in your winter wardrobe.

What Should I buy in Mr Porter Black Friday sale?
Be realistic when you approach the Black Friday sales, some labels will be off limits (the ones with the spendiest price points, no doubt). Anything from the S/S '22 collections is unlikely to be discounted, and the same goes for continuity lines and best sellers. You're bound to find some great staples in there, though – think Chelsea boots, a classic white shirt, a blazer for the Christmas party season.
When is Black Friday 2021?
Determined by Thanksgiving dates in the US, Black Friday always falls on the fourth weekend of November which, this year, is the 26th. Having said that, many retailers – including, in this case, Mr Porter – have begun their sale early.
Will Mr Porter take part in Black Friday?
This one isn't a straightforward answer. Technically, no – but the e-tailer been known to launch sales with different names that just happen to occur on the very same weekend as Black Friday. In 2019 it skipped discounting altogether. In 2020, though, Mr Porter offered up one of the very best Black Friday offerings in menswear: 30 per cent off selected new-season designer pieces. It's back with the same generous offering for 2021.
