Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra have welcomed a baby by surrogate
Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra took to social media on Friday (21 January) to share the exciting news that they had welcomed their first child by surrogate.
In a joint statement shared on both their Instagram accounts, the happy couple said: "We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate. We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family. Thank you so much."
Understandably, the surprise announcement went down a real treat with fans and celebrity friends alike, with plenty heading to the comments section to congratulate the new parents. Nick's brothers Joe Jonas and Kevin Jonas lead the way, sharing a series of heart emojis, while musician John Legend said, "So happy for you both!!!" Elsewhere, one excited fan commented "DADDY NICK I CANNOT RIGHT NOW", as another person put: "OMG WHAAAT???"
The couple join a whole host of celebrities who have famously welcomed babies by surrogate, including the likes of And Just Like That's Sarah Jessica Parker, Queer Eye's Tan France, and of course, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, to name a few.
Nick and Priyanka first sparked dating rumours back in 2017 when they showed up at the Met Gala together. But, it wasn't until 2018 that they confirmed their relationship was officially official, later announcing in August of the same year that they were engaged to be married. Fast forward to December 2018, and the pair tied the knot at a v glamorous wedding ceremony in Jodhpur, Rajasthan surrounded by their closest family and friends.
In recent months, there's been speculation that the couple had called time on their four year relationship – after Priyanka removed Nick's surname from her Instagram profile. But, last night's very welcome announcement has certainly put an end to the rumours.
