Meghan Markle might be jetting off on an official royal tour to South Africa this morning but her former Suits co-star Patrick J Adams is starting off the week by posting a series of Instagram posts of the royal on the set of their hit legal drama.

On Monday, the actor – who played the Duchess of Sussex’s love interest, Michael Ross, in the US legal drama – shared several images of his co-stars on his Instagram account to pay homage to the TV programme which has finally come to an end after nine seasons.

In the images, the 38-year-old royal can be seen relaxing between takes with her co-stars including Sarah Rafferty, Gabriel Macht, Rick Hoffman and Gina Torres.

From posing for the camera outside her trailer and standing in a dressing gown with a pair of high heels on, to lying down on the set with her feet up in the air and sheltering under an umbrella, Meghan looks relaxed as she takes time away from her busy schedule.

Adams captioned one photo of the royal ‘RZ’, presumably in reference to her on-screen character.

In several of the images, fans are treated to an insider’s look into the royal’s firm friendships with her co-stars as they huddle together in front of the camera.

The former actress starred as paralegal Rachel Zane in season one to seven of the TV programme, which was filmed in Toronto, Canada.

After announcing that she would be putting an end to her acting career following her engagement to Prince Harry in November 2017, the royal invited several of her Suits co-stars to her May 2018 wedding.

The final Suits episode airs in the US on Wednesday night during the Duchess of Sussex’s 10-day tour of South Africa with her husband, Prince Harry, and their four-month-old son, Archie.

According to Buckingham Palace, Meghan and Harry will both visit South Africa, then the Duke will separately visit Angola and Malawi (at the request of the government) and 'undertake a working visit to Botswana', alone.

In a post shared on Instagram in June, Meghan and Harry addressed those living in the continent, stating that they were 'looking forward to meeting so many of you on the ground and continuing to raise awareness of the high impact work local communities are doing across the Commonwealth and beyond'.
