Phoebe Dynevor showcased her new brunette hair at the Met Gala

The Met Gala, also known as the 'Oscars of the East Coast', it's an event that dominates the fashion calendar thanks to its glorious display of dramatic atelier and couture which feed into an overarching annual theme. Hair and make-up also play an indispensable role in the creation of a look, with the glittering attendees often indulging in larger than life transformations for the evening.

But it's not always the most extravagant beauty looks that grab our attention; case in point, Phoebe Dynevor's new brunette shade which she unveiled in all its glory on the Met Gala red carpet.

While Dynevor was spotted with the darker shade at the Princes Trust Gala just a few days before, her tightly slicked-back bun didn't give much of a glimpse at the new colour.

Thankfully at the Met, the Bridgerton star wore her fresh, warm-hued brunette hair down in perfectly set Pre-Raphaelite waves, drawing inspiration from the the elegant hairstyles synonymous with the women in the artistic movement of the mid-to-late 1800s.

Where other attendee's opted for a more literal approach to the 'Gilded Glamour' theme of the evening, adorning their outfits and hair in golden accents, Dynevor went for a subtler, more gothic interpretation, keeping her hair and make-up free from extravagant decoration.

Under certain lighting, the deep brunette shade had hints of Dynevor's previous copper-red hair, which the 27-year-old actress became known for during her leading role in the Bridgerton series. Her warm-toned copper shade went on to fuel the colour trend which has become the reigning hue of the season among other celebrities such as Kendall Jenner and Sydney Sweeney.

The young actress wore her new hair shade with Victorian-inspired make-up, focusing on dusky hues for the lips and accentuating the eyes with dark liner.

Dynevor wasn't the only celebrity that stunned with a new hairstyle on the Met Gala carpet, with Kim Kardashian revealing a bleach blonde transformation in homage to Marilyn Monroe.
