Prince William's most fashion-forward outfit yet? Royal's Earthshot Prize look a hit with fans

Prince William has wowed fans with his fashion-forward outfit at the Earthshot Prize awards.

Attending alongside the Duchess of Cambridge, the 39-year-old royal wore a recycled green velvet blazer from Reiss, paired with a turtleneck jumper.

Meanwhile, the Duchess of Cambridge, 39, also re-wore her Alexander McQueen floor-length gown.

The pair stood out amongst a sea of celebrities at the inaugural awards at Alexander Palace, London.

Prince William first wore his blazer in 2019 at a gala for charity, Centrepoint, and it went down a treat with royal fans then, too.

Although stock of the £285 blazer was snapped up long ago, we bet that forest green blazers will be making a comeback this year, particularly as Christmas parties loom.

It wasn't just Prince William who stole the show, the royal had to share the crown with the Duchess of Cambridge who last wore her lilac McQueen number to a BAFTA event in 2011.

The statement gown was finished with a gold beaded waistband.

As soon as the pair arrived at the awards fans flooded social media, pleasantly surprised with Prince William's fashionable ensemble.

One fan described his look as "absolutely stunning", while another said: "I'm obsessed with Prince William's green velvet jacket with the black turtle neck!!"

The Duchess of Cambridge usually steals the show at events like this, but fans even went as far as suggesting that Prince William outshone his wife.

"One of the only times I have seen Prince William out-style Kate. Love the velvet blazer!"

The Earthshot Prize is a global initiative designed to incentivise environmental change. Guests were asked by organisers to "consider the environment" when selecting their outfit.

Guests also refrained from flying to London for the event.
