Kate, Princess of Wales hosted the second annual Together at Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey on Thursday, wearing the ideal high/low festive outfit.

The royal, 40, combined high-end designer items with high street brands for the event at the storied royal church, and one accessory in particular comes in at under £15.

The Duchess of Cambridge and Cornwall was all smiles as she waved for the cameras, before walking into London’s Westminster Abbey.

She wore a monochrome look in a festive burgundy shade for the symbolic evening. Her custom-made Eponine coat dress in her signature A-line shape was the main event, and Kate accessorised with suede gloves, a clutch bag, and her go-to style of Gianvito Rossi shoes, all in a matching wine shade.

But it was her ruby-coloured drop earrings that caught the shimmer of Christmas lights and are from Kate’s secret high street go-to shop when it comes to ear real estate.

It’s not the first time the princess has looked to the high street for accessory inspiration, nor the first time Accessorize has been on her list, either. Which could come as a surprise, given she has a large collection of royal jewels to choose from.

She chose the high street brand’s £1.50 cut-out drop earrings in 2019 during a surprise visit to the RHS Garden Wisley in Surrey, and the ‘Kate Effect’ has been out in full force every time she’s worn her £12 gold hoop earrings from online retailer ASOS, emptying the digital shelves after every new appearance.

Whilst these new Accessorize drop earrings are currently still in stock, we’d suggest getting a wiggle on, before these too succumb to the sell-out success of the ‘Kate Effect’.
