Sarah Michelle Gellar has chopped off her hair and joined the shaggy wolf haircut club

Our favourite 90s vampire slayer has taken a page out of Jenna Ortega and Camilla Cabello's books and only gone and joined the wolf pack. We're not talking about the supernatural, we're talking about hair. Yes, you read that right, Sarah Michelle Gellar has stepped out with a new shaggy wolf cut hair transformation and it's the shortest we've seen her hair in a good while.

Although Buffy has dealt with a few wolves in her time, this layered hair cut is a new look from Gellar. We're used to seeing the actress with her signature long mermaid waves, so this is quite a big chop. Take a look for yourself:

The new 'do was designed by celebrity hairstylist Mara Roszak, and do our eyes deceive us, or does Sarah's blonde locks look a bit brighter, too? We need confirmation of a colour change, people.

Although this popular cut seems to be the 'it' hair trend of the moment, it's not brand new. The style is a revival of the iconic blend of the shaggy haircut and the mullet that was the hair of the 70s and 80s.

It's evolved since, and has become the more subtle feather layer-esque 'do we see today. Actually it's not too dissimilar to the 'Rachel haircut'-inspired style Sarah was seen with in the 90s.

Proof that trends really do come back around.

We're very much into this new chin-length look. Just remember, leave it to the hands of the professionals, rather than your kitchen scissors – it never ends well, trust us.
