Sex Education season 3 trailer teases big changes for the gang

Sex Education season 3's latest trailer teases a major romantic twist involving Otis Milburn and Ruby Matthews.

Soundtracked to the White Lies track 'Death', this brand-new footage offers fans of the Netflix hit an intriguing sense of where the students of Moordale Secondary School are in their lives since season 2 came to a close in early 2020.

Connor Swindells and Ncuti Gatwa's characters Adam Groff and Eric Effiong look set to finally consummate their surprise relationship, while Aimee Gibbs (played by Aimee Lou Wood) and Steve Morley (Chris Jenks) are still together – joined here by a goat of all things.

Meanwhile, there's a new headteacher eager to put her stamp on the establishment by discouraging the horny teens from giving it a "bad name".

It's much too late though, as that name appears to be 'The Sex School' according to a news reporter briefly spotted outside the school's entrance.

As shots of regulars Maeve Wiley (Emma Mackey), Michael Groff (Alistair Petrie), Jean Milburn (Gillian Anderson) and newcomer Peter Groff (Jason Isaacs) whizz by, it's clear that the explosive hormones are well and truly back for Sex Education's third season.

But one moment, in particular, has raised many an eyebrow over on Twitter since the trailer's unveiling: Otis (Asa Butterfield) and Ruby (Mimi Keene) holding hands.

"The world isn't ready for Otis & Ruby," responded one user, before two more added: "otis and ruby's kinda cute. Lol" and "I feel like ruby and Otis gonna have a fling, that's who's pulling him into toilet."

Is the Otis and Maeve dream over?

Sex Education seasons 1 and 2 are streaming now, while season 3 premieres on September 17 on Netflix.
